Dredging Hose - Rubber Suction and Discharge Hose

Bangtian dredging hoses are heavy-duty rubber hoses built for the suction and discharge of sand, gravel, silt and slurry in dredging, sand mining, mining and water transfer projects. We manufacture both hoses of a dredging pipeline: the suction hose, reinforced with an embedded spring steel wire helix so that it cannot collapse under vacuum, and the discharge hose, reinforced with multiple plies of woven fabric for full working pressure. Available in diameters from 150 mm to 1,000 mm, with abrasion-resistant natural rubber liners of 12 mm, 19 mm or 25 mm, flange or plain ends, and any length on request. Factory direct from Hebei, China.

Large diameter rubber dredging hose with flanged ends for sand and slurry suction and discharge

Key Features

Two hoses for one pipeline - we supply both the suction hose (pump inlet side) and the discharge hose (pump outlet side), so one enquiry covers the whole dredging line and the two hoses arrive on the same shipment.

Suction hose with steel wire helix - the spring steel wire helix embedded in the hose wall carries the external pressure, so the hose keeps its full bore under vacuum and does not flatten when the pump is priming or the dredge head is lifted out of the water.

Discharge hose with multi-ply fabric reinforcement - multiple plies of tightly woven fabric, skimmed between plies for maximum adhesion, take the hoop stress at full working pressure and give a long flex life on floating and shore pipelines.

Abrasion-resistant natural rubber liner - the liner is compounded for maximum resistance to abrasion and cutting, because the wear in a dredging hose always starts on the inside. Choose 12 mm for sand and silt, 19 mm for gravel and coarse sand, or 25 mm for heavy gravel and rock debris.

Large diameter capability - diameters from 150 mm to 1,000 mm (6 inch to 40 inch), which covers the suction and discharge lines of cutter suction dredgers, sand dredgers and slurry pumps.

Diameters matched to steel pipe - discharge hoses can be built with bore or flange dimensions matched to the steel pipe used on your pontoons and shore line, so the flexible sections bolt straight in.

Custom length, ends and lining - any length on request, flange, plain or camlock ends, and heavy-duty external cover for permanent outdoor and salt water service.

Made in our own factory - the hoses are cured in our own vulcanising autoclaves in Hebei, China, using mining-grade rubber compounds. Manufacturer, not trader.

Specifications

Both hoses are made to order. Please confirm bore, liner thickness, working pressure and connection before ordering.

Hose type Bore (mm) Liner thickness (mm) Working pressure / Service Standard length End connection
 Dredge suction hose 150 - 800 12 / 19 / 25 Suction, full vacuum rated 6 m / 12 m Flange / plain end
 Dredge discharge hose 150 - 1,000 12 / 19 / 25 10 bar (150 psi) 6 m / 12 m Flange / plain / camlock

Applications

Cutter suction dredgers (CSD) - the suction hose runs from the dredge ladder to the pump and the discharge hose from the pump to the floating and shore pipeline.

Sand and gravel dredging - sand mining dredgers, gravel pumps and barge unloading, where the hose handles sand, gravel and water mixtures continuously.

Port, channel and river maintenance dredging - harbour authorities and dredging contractors keeping navigation channels, berths and river beds at design depth.

Mining tailings and slurry transfer - tailings from the concentrator to the tailings dam, and slurry transfer around the washing plant.

Mine and construction dewatering - open pit and underground mine dewatering, foundation pits and cofferdams.

Alluvial gold and mineral washing plants - washing plants and sluice boxes, where large volumes of sand and water have to be pumped away.

How to Select a Dredging Hose

1. Hose type - suction or discharge. The suction side must have a wire helix reinforced hose; the discharge side uses a fabric reinforced hose rated for the working pressure.

2. Bore - match the hose bore to the pump inlet or outlet, and to the steel pipe in the line. As a guide, keep the flow velocity around 2-4 m/s: too slow and the sand settles, too fast and the liner wears quickly.

3. Liner thickness - decide by the material being pumped: 12 mm for sand, silt and fine material; 19 mm for gravel and coarse sand; 25 mm for heavy gravel, rock debris and repeated abrasion.

4. Particle size - the largest particle should be no more than about one third of the hose bore, otherwise blockage and localised wear increase sharply.

5. Connection - tell us the steel pipe outside diameter or the flange standard, and we will match the hose end to it. Plain ends, flanges and camlock couplings are all available.

6. Length and quantity - standard 6 m and 12 m sections, or any length on request. For floating lines, short flexible sections between steel pipe lengths give the best combination of life and ease of handling.

Why Buy Direct from Bangtian

Manufacturer, not a trading company - Hebei Bangtian Mine Safety Equipment Co., Ltd. is a rubber products and mine safety equipment manufacturer in Hebei Province, China, with our own mixing, building and vulcanising workshops.

Our own large autoclaves - we cure the hoses in our own autoclaves, with capacity for large diameter hoses up to 1,000 mm bore.

Mining-grade rubber compounds - years of experience in mine safety equipment, including MA-certified mine borehole packers and grouting equipment, working with abrasion resistant and ageing resistant compounds.

OEM and private label - hoses can be produced and marked with your own brand for formal orders.

Selection and after-sales support - send us the pump model, the material to be pumped and the pipe size, and we will recommend the hose type, bore and liner thickness. Spare sections and technical advice are available after delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between your suction hose and discharge hose? - The suction hose is used on the inlet side of the pump, where the hose is under vacuum, so it is reinforced with a spring steel wire helix to stop it collapsing. The discharge hose is used on the outlet side, where the hose is under pressure, so it is reinforced with multiple plies of woven fabric to carry the working pressure.

Which liner thickness do I need? - It depends on what you are pumping. 12 mm for sand, silt and fine material; 19 mm for gravel and coarse sand; 25 mm for heavy gravel and rock debris. The thicker the liner, the longer the wear life.

What diameters can you manufacture? - Suction hose from 150 mm to 800 mm, discharge hose from 150 mm to 1,000 mm (6 inch to 40 inch). Other diameters can be discussed.

Can you match the diameter of our steel pipe? - Yes. Tell us the outside diameter of your steel pipe or the flange standard, and we will make the hose end to match, so the flexible sections bolt straight into your pipeline.

How long can the hoses be? - Standard sections are 6 m and 12 m; any length can be made on request, up to the transport limits.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time? - Please tell us the bore, length and quantity you need and we will quote the minimum order and the delivery time for your size.

Can the hoses be marked with our own brand? - Yes, for formal orders the hoses can be produced and marked with your company name.
